It is strange coloration, but very lovely.
Short for Gyandromorph.. which I was too lazy to type out.. :? They are also called "half-siders"
Sort of like hermaphrodites, I guess.. but I don't know if anyone has ever opened one up to see exactly whether it possesses both gonads or not.
Check out the link Debbie posted above..

I clicked on the link to see whatit was too. It really doesn't have much info on there. Just that it is a confused gender bird. I suppose I will not know as I don't intend on breeding if there are no eggs this year. S/he will stay with my seniors :D Life is grand!
Goulds, Stars, Societies,Owls, Gold Breasts, OC Waxbills, 3 Canaries, 1 Rott, 1 Lab/Shepard, 1 Lab/ Setter AND 1 single 13 yr old to whom is the light of my life! We have 2 Lop bunnies too!

I guess it depends what kind of diversity you are seeking.. what do you already have? What is something you would like to have?

Since she is WB, if you pair her with a WB Normal male you will get WB SF Yellow (visually yellow) Males and WB Normal Females.

If you pair her with a DF Yellow male you will get 100% DF Yellow Males and Yellow Females..

Really the only way she will help diversify your flock is in the boys she can produce due to her yellow gene.. or if you are interested in other breast colors, pairing a Lilac Breast male to her will produce all Lilac/White offspring :)

So you see it just depends!
