Shaftail question mature feathers

Post by cindy » Wed Feb 10, 2010 11:19 pm

May I ask at what age has a shaftail reached their mature colors? I have 4, 3 show the pink toned bills one is more on the dark pink side, the other 2 are pearly pink.

I was told by a top breeder I contacted that I should hold onto them and watch what happens when they reach their mature colors/age. It could change as they age or it could be possible that the pink mutation seen in Europe has made it's way into the states.

They fledged prior to Christmas.
