Shaftie song

Post by Meagan83 » Thu Feb 11, 2010 2:32 pm

Does anyone know where I can listen to the song of a male shafttail finch? I have 3 shafties and have no idea of the genders. To my knowledge they have only been peeping and/or "beeping". I cannot, for the life of me, find any sites that have the shafttails song. :?

Right here Liz. :D Access to internet has been cut off at work, the younguns spent too much time chatting and not enough time working [-X

Mine have never sung quite as pretty as that first clip. But usually by 5 months you should have seen something of a song and dance. The second one is definately about the max that my females will do. The boys will hop up and down , fluff their neck feathers and belt it out.

Wow, Thats perfectly clear, to the point where my zebs, their chicks and societies went quiet and listened, but my female shafty started calling out :) :)

I searched my PM's and found this video/audio clip that Janine made of Sundance (her young male Shaftie) just the morning he was sent on his way to me... enjoy!

Thank's Liz. :D I tried to open it but everytime I tried logging in to you tube my computer would crash. My heart just skipped a beat listening to my first baby boy. =D>
