I could write funny bird stories

I truly could. My fids often make me giggle.

This morning I went to a grocery store at 5 am and completely forgot to close the blinds in the FR. Upon returning, just before 6 am, the cage was BOOMING with life. My hubby and our son were peacefully sleeping upstairs while the fids were chirping, screeching, and squeaking really loud. I quickly closed the blinds and that kept the fids quiet for another hour.

Later, I gave them shredded Belgium endive for the first time. All of them, except for our diamond dove, went for it w/in seconds. Our blue parakeet was eating next to the Society finch and all of the sudden, the Society stole a piece of endive from the parakeet's beak! The parakeet was sooooo surprised. It seemed as he wanted to say, "What the heck!?" But it did not take him long; he stole the same piece from the Society, LOL, and then they proceeded with eating again.

It really does amaze me at times how such different species interact with each other.

And here is one more. I was taming one of the budgies holding a millet spray in front of her. Finches were happily flying, bringing pieces of string inside their hut, but then Society decided it was time to explore. :)
So here she is on top of the cage enjoying herself. She was there for half an hour. I thought she wanted to explore the house, but I guess she did not want to stay away from the Shaft-tail, who is constantly calling her.

Well, I finally made her fly a little. She took off, did a few rounds downstairs and then flew uprstairs straight into our bedroom. She looked so funny sitting on our bed. Such a tiny creature but full of personality.

Silly things. I'm glad they're all getting along so well!

Yes, they are but just in case I have 2 extra cages ready, which I hope I won't have to use.
