Same things happened on my CB's first try. Second time around they had some fertile eggs, but they all died because the male blocked the entrance of the nest and the eggs couldn't be incubated. Dummy. I'm sure they will get it right next time.

Wishing you the best with the BW's. I have never successfully bred that species. I always have at least 4 pair in my aviary. They lay, sit but never hatch out. I know I have males but evidently they are not mating with the females. I have heard to breed this species it is best to have them in large groups so that the males can pick their female. They will only breed with a female to their liking. So hopefully you have a compatible pair.

Thanks Domenic and John, I believe they are a compatible pair. They are always together and preening and they built the nest together so I hope they are one! I will keep everyone updated on there progress! :D

Are you sure you have a pair? You can't sex them by looking at them can you? You need to see one sing. Maybe you have 2 girls?

Well good news and bad news!

Good: The lone baby zebra is growing! Both parents are stuffing him full and I noticed little pin feathers today! So next clutch should be fed even better! I named this little zebra Faith. I hope it is a girl!

Bad: Both my bronze wings are female! :( I noticed they stopped sitting today, I peeked into the nest and there were 9 eggs! They stopped sitting because the couldn't sit on them anymore. I removed there nest so they wouldn't lay anymore as I don't want them to waste there energy laying infertile eggs. So now I will have to find both or one a male. That should be fun!

Hope everyone is doing well!
