I'm glad this post got bumped up - they sure are cute! How are they doing now over a month later?

Both little ones are doing fine. I moved them to their own cage since I can't band them, The one with the white is a boy, the red over the eyes is cooming out, the chest is getting brighter. The other may also be a boy since I caught both singing. The parents have not gone back to nest yet.

The other pair are mating and laying eggs so we are still waiting on them to produce.

My owls are busy, my husband said one of the pairs has been mating so fingers crossed on that!

I forgot to mention that the little one still has the white feathers and is eating well including pelletes, veggies and egg food mix.

I'm glad to hear they're doing well. You'll have to post pics when you get a chance! :D

Both offspring went through a major molt. The one with the white feathers along the wings is male with a bright yeloow and orange belly. The red bar above the eyes is coming through. The white feathers in the wings remained. He is on a good wxbill blend recommended by Tiffany and Zupreeme pellets and gets my eggfood mix twice a week along with greens.

They both gobble the finch pellets down so according to the avain vet they are getting what they need nutritionally. As soon as I can get my camera recharged I will post a picture. He is singing up a storm, I believe the other may be a male to but not 100% sure yet.
