hi
ihave kept javas for at least 20 years, and you will do well to put them in a large flight cage or if you want to keep a close eye on them,i built some cages that were 2ft long 15 8inches high and 15 inches deep and they were perfectly happy in those cages ,and bred very well in them once they got settled.tthey dont like being messed with when they are breeding and they are notoriously territorial.i had a 14 ft aviary which they bred well in but even with all that room they used to fight amongst each other especially when breeding......i do hope you are successfull with them because i kept all colours and they are really sleek looking when there plumage grows out.....just another word of warning did you make sure you bought a male and female because they are very hard to sex, they are like societies the male is the one that sings and the female does not.good luck with them

The java sparrow are one of the easiest species to breed, to me have come to raise up to seven chicks
The biggest problem is knowing how to differentiate males from females
