They are beautiful birds. Congratulations. I think that is a species I would like to own someday. Do you have any links to any good information on them?

Apparently males are used to fight one another in some South American cultures. :shock: I can't think of anything more appalling to do to such a gorgeous bird.

They look beautiful, Liz, congrats! A friend of mine cage breeds them, she has a pair with babies right now, and they are parent-raising. She has them in I think one of those HQ single flight cages, 32x21x35 high, one pair in the cage. She gives them mealworms, but not too many at a time. I guess they aren't like the Grens, that need a constant supply of mealies to feed. She also feeds eggfood, sprouted seed, veggies, in addition to the basic seed mix.
3 Purple Grenadiers, 1 Goldbreast + 1 cat.
