They are in a 35x35x72 inch Aviary but that will be changing over the weekend cause I am getting a larger flight cage 6'Lx2'wx3'h this will give them a bit more room. If things don't get resolved with more room I will have to buy 2 more males OR put the bad boy zebra and his mate in a cage by themselves. I did remove the bad boy zebra from the Aviary this afternoon and boy what a difference everyone is getting along fine with him out of there. Hmmmm!

Well all my hen Zebras have males now I bought 2 more males today. I got my new (used) 6ft flight cage all painted and decorated and the babies are in their new home. It looks like its a HIT with them. They have tons of room. I still have a question though regarding male zebras do they kind of fight with other males to pick a mate?

hi
that set up looks great, zebs usually only have a sqaubble when you put nests in because it prompts them to find a mate so you end up with the males having little fights usually its nothing serious,if you have i pair of zebs just one nest will be sufficient but if you have more than one pair like if you had 3 pair you would have to put an extra nest in so it occupies thier minds figuring out which nest to go for and the spare one should stop to many fights,in may aviary i always put far to many nests so that they would have a choice and it kept the nest fights down....make sure there is plenty of nesting material also as zebs are notorious nest raiders....but having said all that if you are not going to breed just dont put any nests in and they will be ok without them and you shouldnt get any fighting at all

I now have all six Zebs 3 males/3 females in the new flight and there is still some arguments going on between the males. Are they arguing trying to pair up with the hen of their choice?

Hi Sherry,
I don't want to discourage you, but I had a pair in my large walk in aviary and they caused all manner of problems. They would not get along with any of the other birds. I think some people have success, but I just never did thus leading to having no zebbies in my aviary. Good luck. But sometimes space isn't enough. They are cute and funny little birds, but can just be a buggar bear.

zebras squabble over: "who is the dominant bird in the cage".
If its just a squabble and hizzing, then its ok,
They just need to settle down.. Sometimes it takes time.
But if they are fighting, plucking and biting, then you have a problem.

I was sitting in my chair having lunch when I heard all this noise and feathers flying everywhere.... Guess Who is acting up again Yep! Jack is being a pest again. Now he is fighting with other males  attacking hens in fact he had one male on the cage floor and they were rolling around like a bunch of school boys fighting in the playground. Well I have had enough so out comes the net and it wasn't easy to catch him but I did and I also caught the hen I bought for him and I placed them both in a cage by themselves......Instanly there was calm and peace in the flight cage. What a putz he is... #-o Jack & Jill have left the building!!!!!!!! for the time being.
