Re: new zebras!! BC, Fawn, CFW, etc..
Thanks for all your input. So here is the question. The CFW male and the dark fawn (possibly split to BC) seem to have paired up...and the BC has taken a liking to the lightback fawn/cfw female. Do you think I should try and switch them around to pair the CfW male to the CFW female, and the BC male to the BC split fawn female?

Here are a couple more pics. The first is the CFW male. This light is a little bright to see the slight color on his back, but you get a much clearer view of his tail. I'm pretty sure hes CFW, not CCFW.
The second pic is of the lightback fawn or CFW female. Let me know what you think;)

If it were me, I would pair the CFW male with the lightback/CFW female. But, I do hate to break bonds that have already formed. If you do choose to re-pair them, have some consolidation knowing that zebras are notorious for "getting around town" and seem to move on and re-bond quite easily. Good luck -- gorgeous birds.

God is my redeemer and it is through Him I have found eternal happiness. I am grateful, I am blessed, and I am truly loved. I wish all this and more for all members of our finch forum family. May you all be blessed and highly favored.

Both look like CFW's
here is a photo of my CFW female

and here is a CCFW female

its okey to take bonded pair and pair the birds
with other birds,
zebras do not mind..
You just have to do it right
And yes, I think it would be a great
idea if you put the cfw's togther and
the fawn (maybe split to bc) and the BC male together!

These are from a young guy here in Charlotte, NC. His uncle has 5 planted aviaries. He has a setup at his house in the garage, with cages he made himself. I was pretty impressed considering he looks to be about 16 years old. He knew his stuff and has been keeping zebras, societies, a couple gouldians and diamond doves for a few years. I'll see if I can get his email address and PM it to you.

So here are the new pairings. The CFW pair, and the BC/fawn(possibly split to BC) pair. Not sure if I'm going to let them breed this year, or wait for next. They seem to be getting along great. I better make up my mind before they get started.
