It looks a lot like my American Singer (he's green, too) but mine sings like a chopper so I don't think he was raised by a true Amer Singer canary aficianado. I'll see if I can take a photo of mine and we can compare (if Kiwi will cooperate!)

No singing for me though, as I have a little hen~ She does make the cutest little chirps though x3

Btw, are canaries naturally tame or something? Because my little girl was perfectly calm the first day I let fly outside the cage, and she didn't even try to escape when I held her. Unlike most other finches, who are so squirmy and hard to hold on to, lol

Canaries have been kept for 400 years and are practically domecticated. They are some of the calmest finches around.
If the breeder is in the bird room alot helps even more :D

There is a site on the internet called Robirda's Canaries (or something like that) -- she is a Canadian and has the BEST website for learning (in general) about canaries -- lots of photos, etc.

But, what I wanted to say is that she talks about having a canary and it greeting her and giving her "kisses" when she came home and sharing her dinner with her, etc. She has a deep love for canaries and you can reallly tell.

She has a book called "Brats in Feathers" about canaries as well.

Here are some photos of Kiwi -- my green American Singer male Canary.

I think they look a lot alike. So my guess is that your hen is definitely American Singer. :)
