Cindy
I saw my first one in a Petsmart and was hooked.
But as you said, VERY VERY hard to find.

Gary...now they are feeding the oldest of the three...the little one (3rd) loos like he may have hatched a few days behind the others. I gave the little on a heat lamp and will continue to hand feed him. They are frustrating but I like I said this was predictable...they usually only give me two good babies out of a clutch so I knew to watch out for the last chick.

Like you, I have a bird with a bad trait.
I have one male penguin that will take care of the kids...until he decides he want to mate again. Then no one is safe from his plucking.
The first time I discovered it, mom/his mates back and rump was plucked completely naked, and he started plucking the kids. After that, as soon as I catch him plucking, or see anyone plucked, I remove him and put into the male community cage to "cool off."

Thnk you Vargur...3 from one pair and 1 from another. For some reason the largest clutch was three so far. They give off usually 2 at the most.

@Cindy
I've noticed that also.
I would get a clutch of 5 eggs, but only 2 or 3 are fertile and hatch.

I am not sure what it is about penguins, even a penguin hen paired with a normal...very small clutches.
