i put the shaft tails in with the zebras to see how they would do and they didnt seem to bother them a bit and today i checked on them and the shaft tails had already built a nest and the societys had started taking care of the zebra finch eggs. im expecting hatchlings soon. the gouldians are in a cage to themselves.

Well I know NOTHING about them. Are they passive?
I have an open aviary so there is lots of room for their
activity.

Wow, i was sitting here and reading my post from when i first joined and i was pretty clueless about finches . I have learned so much since the last post on this subject 4 months ago. I know shaft tails now are pushy not passive. I have learned a lot in 5 months of keeping finches, Thanks to all the help from everyone on this forum. I went from a novice to an almost expert, lol. I do a lot of reading on at least the species i want to keep and i read everyones post and try to learn from there mistakes in the past and what to do and what not to do for your finches. Thanks to all of you who have helped and will help in the future posts.
