One of the really neat things about CBs is that the hens sing, too. With most species, only the males sing, so this is a nice bonus.

Sally your initial post got me going...just this weekend I found a local breeder of CBs and am planning on getting a pair next spring!
Just need to get my larger cage first.

I know the songs of all of my birds, and kept hearing one I couldn't identify. Sure enough it turned out to be Pipsqueak, the little BCCB hen I handraised! She's the only one of my hens that sings, but boy she'll do it all day long! My painteds can also go all day, and both males have very distinct songs. Definitely not as pretty, though.
