Babs

They're just getting used to the new house.
Have you seen them eating and drinking yet? That's something important to watch for. Make sure they know where the food and water are situated. Is your water in tubes or cups? I would offer both for a while, just to make sure that they have it figured out.

Yep Elana, got it covered. They have a water tower, a water tray and a bath on the wall of the cage. so they can select their favorite.

They have two trays of seed and a HUGE sprig of millet. I have seen them chew on the millet (and there are hulls in the seed trays).

Yep they are eating. When I got up this morning they were snuggled together sleeping. And today they are bouncing around like kids.

Female is making a lovely chirp-chirp-chirp vocalization. Male is answering a bit softer. But they talk back and forth and are VERY active. These two seem very healthy.

Colors are just mezmerizing. :-*

delray Lucille debbie276

Thanks everyone! Lucille, their names are Audun & Bridgette :)

Debbie, is it usual for the female to be very vocal ( I cant seem to find ANYTHING on gouldian female vocalizations).

Bridgette often lets out a loud chirp-chirp-chirp. The males lightly chirps back to her. Im just wondering if her loud chirps are normal, or are they "alarm" chirps.......like when I get near Luckys cage.

If its an alarm chirp, I need to get them more privacy (eventhough this room is quiet except for the societies across the room). If its normal I will just give them more time to settle in.

We bought more plastic plants for privacy around the nesting box.

Hens don't do much more then chirp. They may just need more time to settle in.
