Sam007 Thanks... I have one whistling up a storm.... but not exactly singing.... that pretty Gouldy song I know so well.... I thought their colors looked... well, like female colors, but then when I heard the one whistling, I figured song would be soon to follow, and the Lilac on the breast of one of them is much darker (as is the yellow) so then I thought I was wrong.... Ugh, again, I would NEVER send them back but Jeesh.. You'd think if you order something and pay for it, you at least get what you want.... Oh well, I'm just glad both of them are in a better place, now I'll start quarantine, and keep an eye on those feet, GOSH, I don't understand some breeders, I thank God for the breeder I found... I don't take birds from her to save them... they are already in good shape cuz she is a GOOD breeder.... Thanks for the link, I'll take a look.

Oh, and I thought when females were in breeding condition their beaks turned black? I know these (if hens) are pastel so does that mean they don't turn black? I'm only asking because My email from this "breeder" says they are both in breeding condition... They don't look that way to me.... But then again, I'm not a breeder ..... The steam is starting .....

Pastel hens can not produce the black color. Their beaks will smear with color when in breeding condition and not just be on the tip. Neither look like in breeding mode in those pictures and honestly it doesn't look like the one is finished even molting yet.
Has the one sang a song yet?
Pictures are so hard to tell from a distance. Would love to see closer pictures if you could without freaking them out too much.

2 VERY light bellies... (one is sleeping headless) but you get the jist of this post... Hens..2 Hens anyone? :D Thats what I thought debbie276 about the color of the beak, (basically meaning I didn't think they were "in breeding mode" I only see color on the tips of the beaks... looks like Orange on one and yellow on the other) I will get some better pictures tonight, they are settling down quite well, and they can hear my societies, so they do that WICKED cute stand up REALLY straight to make themselves taller (but they look really skinny) to try to see the socies.... (i love that) so they are getting curious, and I got these last night, and they were ok with it. I will deffinitely get you better ones... Thanks again! (btw, check out the bellies...)

Wait, are they the same birds as the first post??
Does the one on the left in that picture have a grayish head color in person?

Thinking we need better pictures with more true to life colors. I know it's tough with some cameras but I know you'll try your best.

But this photo shows them more true to life colors, they are NOT what i expected.... They are MUCH much lighter yellow. And yes her head looks kind of light gray in person..... I will get you pics Deb... Thanks again.

On the YH, is there a blue tinge around the head color? Is the chin white or off white?
The other one looks like it's going to be a BH YTB which is genetically YH. Remember Pastels can't produce black so it will visually be a white head.
I think you are going to see quite a color change with these two, I honestly don't think they are done molting yet.

debbie276 Hey Deb have I ever told you I love you? (LOL, I know I have) That's what I thought too. Another reason i was upset, I don't know why you would SHIP a bird in it's moult... But again, I'm not the Professional. I will do better on the pics too, I don't see ANY blue, although the girl with the White head her back looks kind of blue ish... it's wierd...and around the YH face is NO blue and looks WHITE to me, not off white. and I'm almost positive he is Singing, not exactly like my other ones, but he does kind of sound like my societies (surprise surprise) with the whistling. I'm sorry you may have said but what should I do for his feet? I am treating for scaly feet/face and AS mites. I was also going to do what lovezebs suggested and put some oil on his poor feet, they are being relocated into a MUCH large cage tonight with good food, and lighting... (thank god) but as my prior email said i WAS NOT ready for them... But they must be able to hear my gouldians in the bird room cuz i can see them hearing something and getting excited and trying to see where it's coming from, also the YH was pusing himself into the cage bars and rubbing his beak along the bars (kind of like a prisoner would run the cup agains the jail bars and sing "Nobody knows" which I found odd.... Anyhow. thanks again, Deb, I really do appreciate you!!!

Hi Ellen,

Lady Gray, has a fascinating head colour (I've never seen anything quite like it before ). I am really curious to see, if it will change.

And Tangerine head, makes me think of a tropical drink. :D .

lovezebs I'm glad you said that... That gray "Marble" look I've never seen it either... I was looking at them this morning like "damn you guys are ugly... " Espeically Lady Grey, cuz she looks bald... I tell you what though they are less afraid than my other guys, she hopped right on my finger!!! ( i was trying to put them in a new cage, and where they weren't flapping around like maniacs I was like um... step up? and she jumped on my hand! then when I tried to move she jumped down, but they aren't as afraid of me which is cool, they sure do look like hell in person though... I'm curious to see if she changes too... Either way, I love them, and I KNOW they will get the best care with me, already I moved them into thier quarantine cage (30X18.18) and they seem to have more room than they know what to do with.... It's kind of sad actually.... I'll put up some pics when the cage is done (wanna add a few more greens) But they look around like "WOW.... this is a big place...." Wait til they get into the room!!!!
