Do they really sing all the time?
He certainly sings a lot! He is most active in the morning when I uncover him, and later when I offer them fresh veggies, eggs, soaked seed, etc. It is not non-stop all day singing, but he certainly sings more than the Societies! He is so lovely to listen to!

Mlarue, some birds sing more than others. Some sing for a while then stop for some reason. When I first bought mine it never stopped singing from day one. But since I put the female with him he rarely sings now, which really sucks.

I wonder what your Singers sound like, guys. Mine sounds so much like a canary. Not much like the one I saw on Youtube.

From what i know, there is two types of green singer. One from Northern Africa and one from southern Africa. They both look exactly alike, the difference is that the southern green singer is just little bigger and at the end of their tail, they have more green pattern like and also the back has more distinctive green pattern. And last is their call and song differences.

I don't know anything about that. Mine looks like the common ones. I like his singing but I hope the second one I bought will sound like the one I saw on youtube. It's still young though and still doesn't know how to sing.

You definitely have a male and female. The female has little black dots around her neck, like a necklace and her yellow is not as bright as the males. My male will raise his head up and belt out a song, than the female will answer. They sure are loud for such little birds!!!
