That's because they are the only strawberries in this world that breed like rabbits!

Sally has special Strawberries :D But Domenic since you like birds that have nuptial/breeding colors you would probably love these little guys...not to mention their lovely song. :D They are one of my favorite for sure.

Everyone says that if you get strawberries you better breed them or give them to someone who will, so I'm not sure about getting them because I don't want to seperate them into a breeding cage but rather have them in a large mixed aviary. I am looking for something red to put in the aviary though.

I would think that a pair of strawberries would breed in a mixed aviary. A red factor canary might be awesome in your dream aviary.... Plus the song would be fabulous :D

thats an easy question to answer. all the finches who already own me are favourites and all the finches that I want to be owned by are favourites.
yes I am an addict and thank god there is no cure :D
Addicted to Finches, yes I do admit it.
I pray they never find a cure.

The Fire Finches are another option for RED and they are easy to breed and are very hardy.

The hummingbird!!!

They are so amazing and graceful. But at the same time very energetic and strong for their size. Nothing beats watching the hummers on the feeder in summer! (That - besides my husband - was worth moving from Europe to the US. ;-) )
Walk-in aviary with Waxbills (6 Cordon Bleu, 3 Orange Cheek, 3 Black-rumped, 1 Lavender, ), 1 European Goldfinch, 4 Gouldians, 2 Spice Finches, 6 Owl Finches, 4 Budgies and 2 male Button Quail.
I also have 2 parrotlets, 3 dogs, 1 snake and 3 freshwater fishtanks.

Do they not have any hummingbirds in Europe!??
If that's the case, I'm glad I live here! How awful for you folks over there to not have these gorgeous little guys visiting every summer!

No, there are no hummingbirds in Europe! They only live in the Americas...

I love them all, but I'll hop on the Strawberry bandwagon with Sally.
