The parents keep them both inbetween them on the perch. They preen them and snuggle with them. Good parents. They are back in the nest now, getting ready to settle in. I'll take pictures as they grow, I can't wait to see what they will be and the colors.

My male from the other pair is very colorful, bright orange chest and long red band over the eyes. Wish they would hurry up and settle down.

It's so nice to hear that they are such good parents! =D> It's going to be neat to watch them as they grow and start to color up!

My male is like your new male. Very bright orange chest and long red band over the eye. Such vibrant colors, almost fluorescent! :D

Christine, I can't wait for your pair to have little ones! He sounds really pretty. Are they still building, any mating?

I haven't given them any more nesting material because they started stuffing the nest too full. But they do still have their nest together, and the female is sitting in there again. I did see them mating again a couple times after I emptied the nest of the last clutch of clear eggs. Not sure if she has more eggs yet or not----I have gotten really good at NOT peeking..LOL.. which is really hard for me! :D

I know what you mean Christine, the other pair mates, lays eggs and then after a while the eggs on the bottom of the tray broken. this is how it was with the first pair, I thought they would never produce!

We were watching the little chicks today, they were out on the perch with the parents. We noticed that when they beg they bend down and wave a wing in the air. I heard owl chicks beg like this but did not know GB chicks did. It was almost like they were waving "over here, feed me, feed me!"
