Re: New Arrivals!
Yeah, auto focus can be a pain when trying to take pictures through a cage. I usually open one of the doors and peek the lens through so I don't have to worry about the bars.

I put my pocket digital camera right up to the bars of the cage and then leave it on auto focus (no manual anyway) and the bars are on either side of the lens. You can crop them out if they get in the pic. Also I zoom in just a little - that helps eliminate the bars on both sides.

Oh decisions time...im bad at that especially considering Singing Wings species list is so expansive!nhblond wrote:So I am trying to decide which ones to get: black bellied firefinch, blue cap cordon blue, saffron, or red ear????

They are all great birds, it would just come down to cage space.
My experience with Saffrons proved that they were far to big and pushy for my little guys. I had to move them to an aviary with Javas and Budgies. They are gorgeous birds though!
Cordon Blues are great birds and Firefinches are beuatiful as well! Both species are a challenge to breed but that's the fun part!
Personally, I wouldnt get Black cheeks from any aviary before I saw them since they can vary a lot in quality. They are one of my favorite mutations though! Also, I just saw some nice ones at a show here for $8 each!
.....just my two cents as always
