Anna congrats!!! I am so excited for you! Yay! =D>
Keep in touch if you wanna do any trading down the road. (wink wink)
I have 4 more babies from my yellow male. They hatched 2 days ago. So I should get some yellow hens, SF yellow males, or dilutes. Also, my friend Lori informed me I will be getting a free Blueback for Christmas. One of the birds I traded her produced blues and she is giving me one as a way to say thank you :D 8)

Sounds good!

Yes, they are almost here! I can't wait! My husband has been very careful with them. In fact, they spent the night at a hotel and he kept the room so toasty (for the birds) that he told me he had to sleep in his underwear! HEE HEE HEE.

He called me earlier and said they were still doing great in the car -- eating, drinking -- giving him dirty looks (or so he says) because he thinks they are suspicious that he birdnapped them.

Thank you all, so much! I really appreciate all the support I get on the forum. You all are the best!

I just wanted to update everybody on my birds -- I've been busy getting ready for Christmas and have company so it's been hectic but... I have my new babies home and in quarantine and I'd just like to say they are even more stunning in person than they are in pictures! I LOVE their personalities. The blue hen is 'talking' constantly with her little whistle sound. The dilute male raises his crest (so cute) and is singing all the time. I think he's a little shy, though because when he noticed me watching him (no lie) he turned around on the perch and started singing the other direction! The silver hen seems very quiet and shy and I sort of get a sense that she is younger than the others (not sure but that's what it seems like) and the RH, WB, YB male -- my word -- I was totally unprepared with the brilliance of his scarlet head, his massive size and the perfection of his feathering -- not to mention the fire in his eyes. He IS stunning. I don't know gouldians very well but I have been assuming he is a little older than the others because he is bigger -- AND he has presence.

They are all eating and drinking (and bathing) very much. Very active and they seem to radiate satisfaction and happiness. (I feel like I've really done something just watching them -- I haven't  but that's what I feel like!)

Well... I am definitely understanding what gouldian people love about their birds now! I swear those birds know how to smile.

Misty... wow!! (That's all I can say). I hope to one day produce some birds half as nice as these!

I have decided on names for the Dream Team:

1) RH WB YB male -- Flame
2) Silver female -- Icicle
3) BH Dilute male -- Sundance
4) Blue Back female -- Moonbeam

I'll do pictures as soon as things slow down a bit!

So glad they have arrived...I knew you would love gouldians
The goulds will get a little more size to them as they mature.. but the size is mostly due to their genes they inherited.
I love the names and can't think of a better Christmas present. :D

Anna,

The names are very fitting  They are all the same age within a few weeks of one another (sending baby sheets) all born in March/April 2010.

The RH male - Flame is a real special male - some are very flamboyant and others are not. He "thinks" he is the *! Flirtatious and then some!

The BH male - Sundace is a little more reserved and so is Icicle - she has always been more of a prim and proper personality. And, Moonbeam has been a little bit of both - she has her girly moments. All very curious and trusting.

I'm so happy to hear they did well with their long trip :) You certainly have this mother beaming

Before I forget again - the food (seed mix) was not their normal. It is one I got in a bind a week ago, they are use to a lot more variety of seeds and not so much proso and flax seed. Actually I don't even feed my birds flax but that mix was loaded... :?
