Right now they are probably a bit scared. They will settle in soon.

Probably so. Can/Should I cover up the zebra cages at night? Like the top half maybe so they still have some light? Or is that a bad idea? I'm asking because it's 10pm and the 8 in the other cages are being really rowdy and loud right now.cindy wrote:Right now they are probably a bit scared. They will settle in soon.

you can, I would partially cover maybe the back and sides..dont catch it on fire with your lamp..
LOL you could leave the light on tonight if you wanted or give them a night light just to be sure no night frights. They might like the extra warmth and food and settle in!

Oh good! I'll do that at least for the 2 stacked cages. The other cage with the wee plucked ones has a heat lamp on it, and like you said, don't want to catch that on fire.kheather wrote:you can, I would partially cover maybe the back and sides..dont catch it on fire with your lamp..LOL you could leave the light on tonight if you wanted or give them a night light just to be sure no night frights. New pics of the 2 plucked ones. I think they're doing quite well, considering. They have healthy appetites and seem to enjoy each other's company.
Are those little white fuzzies new feathers coming in?

Hi, I realized it's been a week since you rescued all those zebras. How are they doing? Has everyone settled in?

Hi Kathmcm. When I first saw the ad I thought it looked like a bargain. Haha. Jokes on me.kathmcm wrote:Hi, I realized it's been a week since you rescued all those zebras. How are they doing? Has everyone settled in?

So, a week ago I received 10 zebras in 2 cages.
1st Flight Cage: Dad, Mom, Baby, 1 Brother, 1 Sister.
2nd Flight Cage: 4 brothers, 1 sister
I had to buy more cages to uncrowd, cut down on fighting, and seperate the sexes, so right now they are in 5 cages.
1st Flight Cage: Dad, 1 Brother (some bickering, giving it some more time

2nd Flight Cage: 2 Brothers (agressive with others, but they love each other

3rd Flight Cage: 2 plucked Brothers (they're getting along pretty well

4th Flight Cage: Mom, 1 Sister, Baby (these 3 are doing ok together so far

5th Small Cage: 1 Sister (poor lonely badly plucked girl turned into a meanie. don't know what to do with her other than to get her into a bigger cage

These are relativaly new arrangements ATM because I've had to switch things around a few times already trying to find the right fits.
I may not be done yet.
