Re: Crested Zebras 2-22-12
Katie, Penguins keep the cheek patches, loose the tear, males loose the breast bars and throat lines...some have faint throat lines. The males keep their flanks
Females get white cheeks, white chests and underside.
The girl on the left is still young, her silver cheeks will turn white

See,i told you i sound stupid. I mean its basically half white. The top is grey and bottom white.
I have a question, has anyone here bred penguins with say.. bc or bb? I kinda want to se how that works out. They would work against each other right?

you are right....Orange and black would be in conflict and the orange would suppress the black. It would not work well

DITTO! They are so adorable! I just wish zebras were better at getting along with each other and other species because they're so beautiful and unique in their coloring patterns.LuxandLolita wrote:Cindy,i agree with Dante. Your penguins are extremly beautiful!

Re: Crested Zebras 2-22-12
Most of mine are in pairs except for flights of young of certain species and one cage of extra females and males. I seem from time to time an slight issue with white birds...even if the flight is all white, one or two seem to get picked on...I know it is a dominant thing so those little ones being bullied are caged together for a bit.

Re: Crested Zebras 2-22-12
That is how my uncle has it, non breeders and young ones flighted, I have notice the hens squable more then the males!! The largest of the males (when they were flighted) went around courting all the other male in the flight!! Guess that is what they meant by don't drop the seed!!

Re: Crested Zebras 2-22-12
I have different blood lines of split to BB...fawn, normals, the two offspring that are showing OB now. I put the parents back to nest...would love to see a FF OB male, the white with orange breast would be pretty.
