I have not heard any noises yet.I wanted to take a peak yesturday as I did catch both birds out of the nest but as soon as I turned my head, one of them was back in the nest.
I decided to leave everything alone.I am not getting to excited as i think I have learned that there can be dissapointments along the way but things seem to be going well, now if I could only tell if and how many chichs are in that nest...I will wait and see what happens!!
Im excited though....

Ok,I have 6 eggs.
Have anyone ever got 6 chicks out of 6 eggs?
I would be happy with 2 or 3 chicks but you never know I guess what could happen.
My hopes are not high but like I said I am getting a little excited!
I certainly know that too many things can go wrong and who knows maybe the eggs didnt hatch out!!

Well I was just to my birdroom for some major cleaning before I head back to work tommorrow.I have some bad news and some good news.First I will give the bad news,I cleaned every cage except my gouldian cage as I didnt want to interfere with the pair too much and while I was looking in the cage I noticed one of the chicks was over at the other side of the cage where the water drinker is place and it was dead stuck to the perch. Now,I have a feeling but I could be wrong that the chick must of somehow got stuck to one of the adults because it was very close to the drinker on the other side of the cage. Therefore now leaving me with only the possible chance of 5 chicks
Now for the good news,I can definitly hear some peeping in the nest so I know for sure there are chicks in there
How many I have no idea.

Sorry to hear about the dead chick - it happens. VERY GLAD to read that you are hearing peeping now!!
Personally if the nestbox is accessible from outside the cage - I would now look inside (making sure the parents are out first of course).
Congrats on however many babies you have in there!

I guess I could be down to 4 chicks possible now as I just noticed a clear egg on the floor. She wouldnt have started to lay again, would she?
Unfornately I can not get into the nest box unless I go inside the cage.I will leave it all alone and see what happens!

Yes if the nestbox is inside the cage then it's best to leave them be. At least you know now there are 'some' live babies in there. Four is still very very good! Gosh even one is really good!

If I get one chick I will certainly be happy.Im would like to get 50% of the eggs, which was 6 and get 3 babies out of the clutch.I would think that would be a great accomplishment.I guess anything can happen!

Well I noticed both birds outside the nest this evening after work and I decided to shine my flashlight in the nest and I noticed what I think was 4 chicks.Hopefully there is indeed 4 chicks and they all make it to the perches!

What are the chances now that they would abandon or kick them out of the nest, now that they are week or more old?
I could see the balls around the head/beak on one of the babies!

Now that I know whats going on inside the nest I will be only looking on the floor of the cage, feeding and water and I will wait to see when they leave the nest, hopefully all 4!
