Thank you Misty and Donna for your kind words. The Black cheek pair hatched out 1 of the 2 eggs. I found the 2nd egg, broken with a little dead chick in it. I think the parents did not incubate it long enough so even though the BCk incubated the egg they could not save it.
So far the pair is raising the little foster chick. The BCk mom sits on her 3 eggs and cares for the chick. The foster dad does what I call food runs, I can hear the little chick begging. I am so pleased with this pair, they are doing a great job.

So sorry you lost those 2 babies, cindy. Sometimes we just don't know what is going thru the parents' minds. Sounds like it is definitely time for a rest for them.

Sally, I took the nest box down. Right away they tried to build in the plants with paper towels from the floor. It was kind of funny to watch at first, they tried so hard to drag the sheet of towel up to the plants, they shredded pieces which I quickly removed. The tray now has newspaper in it that they can not pull up.
