Well the pet store we were at had SEVERAL sick birds VERY noticeable to any knowledeable person, and as a breeder of fish with 10 running tanks right now I would NOT want a uv sanitizer on my tanks having them all connected if they would be as healthy as those fish uh uh no thanks,

They actually sell fish in Walmart??? That's just not right.

As for the chain petstores, I hate to generalize them into one group of mistreating animals.I think each store is different. I know that the Petco and Petsmart here are pretty well run. Yes, you have your kids there that are just in for the money, but considering the size of those places, the ones in our area actually do a pretty good job of keeping everyone clean. All the little guys seem to look pretty happy.

There is an occasional sick finch there, but honestly, finches get so sick so quick. I don't expect them to be watching those cages 24/7. What I do expect is for them to treat the animals promptly and properly.
