Hey There! They are doing well! No obvious mating, nesting or eggs yet, but are really getting on well. Thank You for asking. :)

I believe they breed in late spring. I think it's an accomplishment to keep them at all! Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

NOPE! Not yet! They are in a mixed flight and are happy and healthy but no nesting behavior yet. I was just thinking yesterday how much I love to hear the male Twittering. ;) Thanx for checking on us! ;)

hello everybody

XQZ me for waking this old post up!!

a couple of days ago I bought a pair of RF serins.

the female is a little bigger and hits the male when they become face to face!! but most of the time they're jumping everywhere in the cage and sound the call form...

I separated them in two cages for giving them their own territory, now the female is feeding to death!! she is always eating and the male is always calling (not singing!) and sometimes he eats a little, they don't bathe and the female is a little curious and brave but the male has a little more fear of me. anyone breeding these tiny friends?

and anybody has more information about gender verification?
I know the male has larger red spot and brighter red and yellow colors and has darker feathers in the sooty parts (head, breast, ...) and sings!!

thank you
Saeed

Hi, thank u so much, i'm sorry for being rude! in many forums the admin omits the posts like greetings &... because they think it's irrelevant to the forum!!
I thought here is like that!! excuse me for that.

thank you for the site but I can't find any info about this species in there.

I don't wanna hurt the birds and I really need your advice and other experts. they feed good but behavior of the male makes me concerned!!

thanks for your reply

Hi Saeed.

I looked up the Red fronted Serin. They are very pretty little birds. However, there really isn't a lot of information about them.

Why not PM lyzzyjayne, and ask her for some information about her experiences with this species. She would be the best one to ask, seeing as she actually had them, or maybe still has them.

Good luck

saeed.gallehdari You haven't been rude at all! And you will find that this is a friendly forum, most everyone gets along quite well. I hope you can find information on the Red-fronted Serin, I have no experience with them at all.
