I really like those silvers. Very sharp looking birds.

John, I had two pairs of normals a long time ago. I really enjoyed them. Congratulations on the pieds, they are unique.

Re: White and silver pied Javas
I was wondering if my Javas were pied. Both parents are fully white but all 5 babies came out white with the silver down their backs. They are all going through molts right now and wonder if they will keep the silver or turn completely white like the parents

Re: White and silver pied Javas
Just wondering if your 5 white babies with the silver backs turned completely white when they finished their molt? I also had a baby from 2 pure white javas, the baby has the silver back and is just going through his first molt right now. I was told by someone that it is common for them to turn all white after their first molt but curious what yours did?

Re: White and silver pied Javas
The parents were Silver and White. I just went to the aviary to check them out cause with the cold weather I have not really paid to much attention to them except to feed and water and make sure the heat is adjusted properly. I have noticed that the silver is very subtle since their last molt but it is still visible. Maybe they will turn completely white as time goes on. The parents also have gotten lighter but are still darker than the offspring. I had the parents for 2 years and they stayed dark until recently. Go figure!
