Which finch preens and cuddles?

I bought a pair of orange cheeks and I just love them. They are always together and they bathe together and preen each other. I am looking for another pair that would have the same behaviour.

I also have a cordon bleu in the cage but doesn't have a mate.

Thanks in advance.

Sam

All my birds that have bonded mates (no matter if same or opposite sex) are preeding and cuddling. :P

Most finches do that. Go to a pet store and you can observe them. From my own experience Green Singers don't do that, and I'm not sure but I don't remember Canaries doing that either. Your Cordon like to allopreen and cuddle.

Yeah, my canaries never have. Nor have any of my goulds actually...

Gouldians don't preen each other. My little goldbreasts did. And now my Golbreast and Society "couple" preen each other. It's so cute to watch these two preen each other as they are so different in size!

Our zebras have always behaved that way.
Very affectionate to each other.

My societies, zebras and shaftails all cuddle all of the time. :D Gouldians will cuddle at night, and when it is time

I think birds are far more social than I realized before I had finches!

You know my favorite pair of cuddlers? My red-eared waxbills. His name is "Bandit" and she is "Washerwoman". They sit very close to each other ALL the time and call to each other constantly if they are apart.

These are my tiniest finches but he is BY FAR my best nest architect -- he likes to build a huge, elaborate nest and decorate it (with old bird poop)

He also defends her from far larger birds and they back away because he is a ferocious little guy when he wants to be.

They are like two little pom-poms sitting on a branch when they preen.

P.S. Get your Cordon a mate and you will see plenty of cuddling and preening! Cordon's are VERY loving towards each other, too.
