The Secret Lives of Green Singers

It's feeding time for 3 chicks hatched about 5 days ago (Aug 4). I had to be real sneaky about this and filmed them from between two cages (above and below the camera). Once the hen realized 'something' was there - she grabs a piece of poop out of the nest and leaves.
Hope you can see the chicks and ...enjoy!

A picture of the babies? Well that's as close as I can go and I dare not make the camera flash at them in 'camera mode'. The cage is not covered at all except by the cage on top (they are stacked 3 high). I was about 2' away and had my hand in between two cages of finches beside them. As you can see at the end, the mother got nervous and left. When I see the hen off the nest, I'll try for a pic but I don't want to scare her off again.
On the other hand, if you're asking for a pic of the cages... though the set up has changed slightly - this will give you an idea of my birdroom again.

Yeah, sorry

I should have explained better. I meant the cage. I have given mine so much privacy that I can barely see that I even have birds in it.

Just wanted to see how yours are set-up.

Thanks for all the comments.
Yes it seems Green Singers feed their babies by dribbling food out of their beaks and drop it basically into the chicks' beaks. They do not put their beaks into the chicks' mouths like the Gouldians, Zebras and Societies do. So the GS babies reach up to snatch the food the parents are dribbling out! Weird!

I'm with Bill - how on earth do you keep it so clean? I seem to have seed everywhere no matter how many times a day I sweep.....

Oh and here's the straight on pic of the cages. The Green Singers are in the middle cage. Their nest is in the top left corner - behind the pink flowers.
Today mom Green Singer is off the chicks a lot more and no one is fighting - yay!!
PS - note the trays pulled out about 6"...? That helps keep a little seed off the floor (very little).

Not being sarcastic at all! I have drifts of hulls up against the walls and cage stands no matter how hard I try!
Forgot to comment on the chicks! So they're using an open nest? Congrats on the chicks!!
