YES I was waiting for these pics!

They are exactly what I expected and more. I can only wish to be so fortunate as you and own even a single pair of those one day.
I'm very curious about them, are they social like most other waxbills? Do they have a nice song?

thanks Domenic

,they all r wild caught bird.these birds r not commonly found in local pet store.but they r very cheap as per pair $5

i have bought 4 pair but 3 died because they were sick.
no they r not social like moat other waxbills .firstly i put them with my red strawberries but they are in fighting mood and picking feathers.
so i separated them in a single case, they don't fight each other.
yes they have a nice song,a little bit difference with the red strawberries.

Oh, I have found my new dream bird! Green Avadats will be right up there with Pekin Robins, but I have a better chance of getting Pekins than I do Green Avadats--I've been told that the Green Avadat has completely disappeared from American aviculture.
Thanks for that link, Bill. I had been told that the Green Avadat had disappeared from Australian aviculture, but it sounds like they are still working to save them--but 100 in the whole country is pretty scary.
Thanks, mahfuz, for those photos--I'd only seen drawings of this bird before--you made my day!

Love those birds

There are many subspecies in the anandava/avadavat family. Our common goldbreast waxbill is among them.
They all require the same sort of care, diet, and they will/can crossbreed if kept together.
