Getting a pair of Goldbreast!*Got 'em, PICS*
My goldbreast pair came in to the local bird shop today and I will be going tomorrow (hopefully) to pick them up--$60 for the pair (sounds like a good deal to me!). I've wanted a pair of goldbreasts for the longest time now, so I'm very excited to see how they behave and what the male sings like. Getting a new species is the most exciting thing to a finch lover.
I'll post some pics once I bring them home.

Re: Getting a pair of Goldbreast!
How exciting
They are sweet little birds and they make the sweetest little sounds
$60 does sound like a good deal...especially from a pet store

You are going to love them...you will want more of them!!!!! I have one female that is in the aviary, when the sun just starts to peek out she starts this little chirping, to get everyone up...we can hear her across the house. It works, I get up turn the lights on and she stops. Other than that they are quiet, the male sings softly and they are very bonded to their mates. Enjoy them...and as always PICTURES PLEASE!!!

I made it to the pet store today (thankfully, almost 10 minutes before closing) and there they were sitting on the counter. You should have seen all the other customers gawking at their size, "Oh my gosh that is the tiniest thing I've ever seen, what is it?" LOL The cashier had to point me out a million times to say that they were Goldbreasts ordered by me. They look very healthy and are very active. A couple feathers are out of place but that's understandable considering they made a long trip from San Francisco. They're already very bonded.
Here are the pics. I apologize for the out of focus pics, I don't usually like to post bad pictures of my finches here on the forum but these little guys were the toughest things to take pics of.

Very nice Domenic....little beauties. Very nice coloring.
Just a word of warning check the cage for gaps, you may want to secure the openings for a bit. I had one male that slipped through the an opening not much wider than the bars and would sit on top of the cage, sit on the curtian rod. He did this 2 times until I found where he was leaving from. They are really fast to! Even the large door on some of the cages lean forward a little, that is were the little guy was sneaking out of. He is in the big flight now and every inch of it he could get through was secured.

Good luck with your new addition. I got myself a pair of Goldbreated several months ago and it took me about a week before I could post the first pictures.
They were panicking every time I looked at them. Now they are a little bit more relax around me. I hope I will get some chicks this fall or winter
if I can teach them to eat mealworms.
