pin-tailed parrot finch

Post by tursiopschic » Sun Jul 01, 2007 2:30 am

Anyone have any experience with these? I want some colorful finches and have 2 nuns already, so i thought another indonesian finch would be better than the Lady Gouldian....

wdyt?

Thanks!

I've never heard of them, so looked them up. Very pretty! I love the colors on this bird. Looks like a good alternative to the Gouldian.

I don't think that they are highly available. I guess I'll keep my eye out for any, but won't get my hopes up. They are so pretty though!!!

Thanks Kenny...interesting article. I'm not really a breeder and it looks like I wouldn't have the space to attempt to breed these birds anyways.

They also sound like the may not be happy in a mixed flight...so it's good to know. I think I'll go with Gouldians.

So gorgeous! I fell in love with some Red-Headed Parrot Finches at a bird fair, but they were a bit too pricey for me! :(
