Now mind you, this has been going on now for about a week and a half. During the day my Greensingers seem to be very quite, working on their nest. But as soon as I turn out the lights and everyone else goes quite.....they are just a singing such beautiful music. Has anyone else ever noticed their Greensingers singing after dark

Mine seem to sing the most after the cage lights are out and just the (fairly dim) overhead light is on.

Maybe they are not ready to sleep yet. My Green Singers like to stay up longer.

I was thinking the same as ikhom. Maybe they're not ready to sleep. How many hours of light do they get? My grey singer likes to sing pretty close to lights out...

They are getting 14 hours of light, just like everyone else.

My Gray Singers sing off and on during the day, but always lots in the evening. Once lights go off, 9 and 10pm, they are quiet.

My males are singing right now and it is 9:30PM.

(whispering as I say this) This morning at lights on...6:20am....not a peep from the greensinger cage. I have been watching them closely. She is now sitting in the nest since lights on and has not left..it is now ..7:01...I can only assume that she just laid her first egg. Will let you know if ever she leaves. Even if I go right up to the cage she does not move.

She left the nest to get some fresh eggfood..there's an egg...there's an egg

Good luck with your Green Singers. My hen continue breaks her eggs even after I changed (increased) the daylight. There is still one egg in the nest from yesterday, so I'm also hoping for the best.

No GS's but my male canaries sing long, complex arias after lights out (for about 30 min's). So does one little RC Cordon Bleu female that has no mate and one of my most passionate Parrot finches -- he trills all the time during the day too.

Occasionally mine will sing in the middle of the night as well -- but I do have a night light for them....

I love lying in bed and listening to my birds sing.

Just a little update on this pair. She laid all 3 eggs and is now sitting, what a beautiful sight.

That is great news, Janine. Before you know it, you will have GS fledglings. Is the nest where you can see inside? I loved having that front-row seat with my Gray Singer babies!

Oh yes Sally, Don't you know it. Everytime I fill the seed dishes up top I get to have my little peek. I am trying really hard not to disturb them. She looks so sweet and innocent sitting in that tiny little nest that he built her.
