Red-heads or Cut-throats???

I just found these 3 fledglings in the aviary this morning so I decided to band them while I could easily catch them. I have 2 pair of cut-throats and 1 pair of red-heads in the aviary and these look a little different from the cut-throat fledgling I have gotten in the past. They look a little stockier, however I am not sure now.
If anyone knows how to tell the difference, if possible at all I'd appreciate some feedback or else I'll just have to wait and see.

I do know one thing, they are all female. The males show the red on both species at 21 days.
I am going to sit out by the aviary for a bit to see who is watching and feeding them. It's been so hot here I have not been able to stay out for long that is why I don't know what is happening in the aviaries.

John can you email Garrie Landry and see if he can ID them for you? He has a lot of experience with the RHfinch.

John, the head looks almost like a female cutthroat. What does the chest have? Anything that looks like scallop like pattern on the femal rhfinch?

OK, I did some bird watching today and they are definitely cut-throats. The mom cutthroat is all over them, protecting them from anything that gets in their way. Usually I get 2 males and one female. This time they are all female. These seem a little wider in size than the other clutches that's why I was wondering if they could possibly be red-heads. Anyway I am pleased.

No. But the fledglings do before they retire to the nest.

Could they be hybrids?

No, all pairs are well bonded and stick to their mates.

Very nice looking fledglings John. I wish my birds would come out looking so well feathered.
