Budgies and finches

Post by Lauravdm » Mon Sep 27, 2010 1:47 am

Hey all

So I got my beautiful Zebra's but along with them my husband bought 2 budgies which I am not too thrilled about, as they seem to be pushing the zebra's around, anyone know of any problems with them together, or am I ok

Not wise to mix the two...some have successfully, but it's not worth the risk.Hookbills can savage finches.Get another cage.

in small cage budgies are dangerous for finches,so separate them as early as possible, i have terrific experience with mixed budgie and finches in a same cage

Great decision! :-)

I do keep budgies and finches together but they are in a walk-in aviary and not in a cage. Mixing them in a cage is a very bad idea.
Walk-in aviary with Waxbills (6 Cordon Bleu, 3 Orange Cheek, 3 Black-rumped, 1 Lavender, ), 1 European Goldfinch, 4 Gouldians, 2 Spice Finches, 6 Owl Finches, 4 Budgies and 2 male Button Quail.
I also have 2 parrotlets, 3 dogs, 1 snake and 3 freshwater fishtanks.
