Recently I got a pair of young FF/Isabela zebras, they surprised me with a big clutch of eggs...now hatchlings.

There must be 8 eggs of their own and 3 foster eggs from a fawn pair (not sure if these will hatch or not). Today I looked in and there are 4 little fluffy white chicks wiggling around. The parents are very pretty so I am anxoius to see what the young will look like.

Both mom and dad are very protective and are caring for the babies nicely. Hope there is a pretty female in the clutch, I got a lovely FF male this weekend and want to make a new pair. (he is in quarantine with the penguins and continental CFWs).

Thanks Janine...I never thought I would get into the zebra mutations, it took one little bird from Patches and Cleo's clutch...a fawn to spark my interest. (Look what you started John, now I am hooked!)

This is the male FF in quarantine waiting for a lady and a cage of his own, though he gets along with the squeaky little penguins!

I love how a FF looks.
Problem is I have not been able to find any around here in the SF Bay Area.
And now that I am limited for space, I don't have room for them and my penguins.

Thank you...I have seen the FF in some privately owned pet stores but would not consider based on the lack of cleanliness of the cages. Birds looked great, cage care could be a whole lot better.

I got the first pair from a private individual and the male was one of two at the show.

My goal though is to get fawns, not just females but males (very hard to find here). My pair gives me females. I but a split to fawn male and a fawn female together, not sure what will happen there but hoping for the best.

Congrats Cindy! =D>

I love zebra mutations. I have my first dominant cream male chick and am so excited about him feathering out. Comeoncomeoncomeon!

The fawns are some of my favourites. A friend of mine has a fawn black breast that is absolutely one of the best looking zebra males ever. I'm hoping to one day get a fawn black cheek pair (never actually seen them, but wouldn't those chocolate brown cheeks be amazing?!)

I almost got a pair of fawn black cheek this weekend but the female was so young, her beak had not turned and she looked terribly stressed. I passed on buying them, I just one of those gut feelings about the little female.
