Penguin zebra fact I learned

I recently purchached 2 female penguins and a male penguin. The male is crested pied. I discovered after purchasing them on an impulse at a show that the males are suppose to have the orange cheek patches, mine does not because it is pied and the pied cancells the cheek patches out on the penguin (wrote one of the authorities on zebra mutations).
He is interesting looking but it I want true penguins, especially the males so now I have to take two normal male zebra finches and breed them back to get the orange patches to show on the male offsprings cheeks.
As far as the crested male goes, he can have a normal female as a nest mate but the two penguin girls are off limits....working on pairing them with males from two different sets of normal zebras.
