Picked up a pair of Red-headed Parrot Finch.
Lovely little birds, male singing away like he's been here all his life!

I love Red Headed Parrots....I have a pair sitting on eggs right now...I hope they hatch into beautiful little babies!!

Beautiful birds!! Thank you for sharing.
PF's are typically very good parents -- IMO what is more difficult is sexing them, and keeping the males in good weight to get fertile eggs without an aviary.
I love PF's and their long trills and high energy; keep us informed on yours!

The male is cage bred and the hen aviary bred.
So fingers crossed they do the business.

While I was trying to video one of my other birds, the parrot finch started to sing and dance to his hen. Fingers crossed for some eggs soon!!

what a good birds. I love the way the male sings. Such a good soft song. Hopefully you will be able to get some babies from them.

Today they started building a nest in the basket I gave them! I am using burlap sack and cocoanut fiber cut up into 2 inch pieces
