I've recently come upon a bird, but I'm unsure of it's species exactly, from the information I have acquired I believe it is a type of finch, I was wondering if anyone can help me identify it by send them a pic.....thanks.

My guess was that it was some kind of juvenile robin, but I really am not sure.

Anyone else want to take a shot at identifying it? It's awfully cute.

Ok, I was just informed that the bird was found in S. Florida, and with a little more searching, I think it looks a lot like a juvenile Northern Mockingbird.

But if you think it's probably something else, please let me know :)

Are you planning on keeping it or releasing it at some point?

I was thinking finches initially so at first glance I thought you had a Jacarini Hen on your hands.
However the colour, head shap, tail length and especially beak is different.
This is what a Jacarini Finch Hen looks like:

On closer examination this bird is almost certainly a juvenile mockingbird, the flecks on the chest, head shape and most certainly the beak give it away. See how the beak has a wiggly zig zag shape as it approaches the head.

Its a mocker alright. You really need to get it to a rehabber it is illegal to keep them as pets.
