My New Owls

I just picked these up at the airport this morning, and they are settling in. Hard to get a photo with all 8 of them facing forward, in focus, etc.
There are 3 hens and 5 males, all NFSS closed-banded, 2010 and early 2011, 6 bloodlines.
These came from a forum member, kcdozy, who posted them in the Marketing forum. They look great, and Rich is so good to work with. I can highly recommend him.
I always have drama at my house, and today was no exception. I took the carrier into my small bathroom to remove the birds. Instead of putting the carrier on the floor, covering it with a sheet or beach towel, and removing them one by one, I decided to let them loose and catch them up one by one. This was so easy, I was patting myself on the back for a job well done, when I got down to the last bird--not to be found! I looked everywhere (which doesn't take long in my tiny bathroom). Impossible, this bird cannot have disappeared.
I finally climbed on the toilet seat, then onto the countertop, to look on the top of the cabinets. To my dismay, I realized that I hadn't even thought of the opening up there. When these cabinets were installed, there was a 3" gap between the linen tower and the wall. A piece of trim was installed to cover the gap, but at the top, there it was--a 3" x 12" opening. I got my flashlight, and sure enough, there was a little Owl at the bottom. There was no way this little one was going to be able to fly vertically 7' straight up to the top.
So off to Home Depot to buy a pry bar, back home to pop off the piece of trim, a net to shoo him out of there, and out he hopped, none the worse for wear. Back with his cagemates, he had a big story to tell. I made note of his band number, as I certainly will remember Trouble! (Third from the right)
