Silver societies...?

Post by newlinta » Wed May 18, 2011 6:16 pm

Is anyone working with this color/mutation?

I got a beautiful black-grey self society from
Connie Gahman (wings custom mixes,quakertown,pa)
over the weekend. It is out of a line of silvers she
has been breeding for a bout 6 years. He is split
to silver.

All the info I find on the net calls "silvers" dilute
chestnut selfs...Though her line has no chestnut in it.
Her line used euro black-grey selfs as the base color.

On a side note,Connie(and her husband) are retiring
soon and getting out of breeding altogether, though
she will still keep the seed/feed part of her business going.
She is in the process of selling off all her birds.

I have been looking for self/solid societies with not much luck
in the area(everything is pied)...called Connie and she said she
had 1beautiful black-grey self left. Knowing her reputation, I said
I'll take it!!! I stopped by to pick him up and she GAVE me
her main silver breeding pair...I was shocked and honored!!

Anyway,I'd like to continue working on this line and wondered
if anyone else was doing the same?

I'm looking for silvers and/or black-grey based
selfs/creaminos/greyinos to try and keep this line going.
They are a really rich, silver color.
I'll post some pics as soon as I can.

Thanks for reading...
