I can't believe how fast they are growing. There is barely enough room for mom to get in the nest. I have two light feathered and one dark feathered and one varigated. The light colored chicks are kind of yellow/white/light red. Can't see the dark colored chicks very well.
Opinions welcome

They are so cute! How old are they when their eye open? Mine are about 10 days and still no eyes open. Here's a pic from yesterday.

Well lets see the last egg hatched on Mothers Day and most had eyes open all the way last week. I'll let you do the math

The oldest one is almost standing on the edge of the nest it won't be long now. This is so much fun and amazing watching nature do her thing.

Thanks. Yes, I love watching them grow and see what happens each day and week. From your dates, our clutch is a week behind and so, I should see eyes open next week?

Sherry they are so cute! And Big already!

What fun watching them feather up! Can't wait to see the fledglings hopping out to see the big world! Do Canaries Fledge in the same color they will molt into? Some birds do and some don't. Looks like you got a great variety of chickies!!!

Trish you asked me a question I can't answer

These are my very first canary babies. Their colors are sure different.
Will keep you all posted. Mom is already trying to make a new nest. I don't really want her to lay another clutch but I can't stop her..

My Hen is getting to busy building a new nest I am afraid she will stop feeding her babies even though dad is doing his best to feed them. Should i put bedding material in there?? She keeps yanking at the phony ivy plants. Poor thing.

That's so amazing! My hen is trying to start another nest with a different male too! The chicks are only two weeks old. There are two males feeding them, but I don't really want her to start another clutch. Any ideas? So she'll continue with the first one? Or should I just let the dads continue and her do her own thing?

They are precious

It always seems to be crowded but they do manange. And the chicks do fledge with their true colors. With their first adult molt they will be brighter with their mature feathers and flight feathers will show the full color .

Hey there can someone answer this question? When the chicks fledge will the parents still feed them? I expect to see my chicks out of the nest any day now they stand up in the nest and flap those wings and are picking at the sides of the cage.

Once they fledge should I continue with the egg food or not?
