NEW OC Waxbills!!

Post by Oshtay » Tue May 31, 2011 9:16 am

I just couldn't resist. These are the cutest little guys I've ever seen! I'm not sure of their sex, but fingers are crossed for male and female. Meet Octavia and Orian =D> :P They are LOVING all the space in their new cage!

Cute! =D> =D> =D>

I love my OCs and I'm sure you will love yours! Mine are a trio, and probably all the same sex (I assume males) because they have never attempted any breeding. :? They are very gentle and calm birds, but at the same time curious and inquisitive.
Walk-in aviary with Waxbills (6 Cordon Bleu, 3 Orange Cheek, 3 Black-rumped, 1 Lavender, ), 1 European Goldfinch, 4 Gouldians, 2 Spice Finches, 6 Owl Finches, 4 Budgies and 2 male Button Quail.
I also have 2 parrotlets, 3 dogs, 1 snake and 3 freshwater fishtanks.

Very cute! I have four males, I think, even though they paired off into two's. No nesting or other activity in one year. :( Here's some pics that aren't as good as your, as I have to use my cell camera, but they give you an idea. :D I'll post two now and two next post.

Congrats!
I have a pair as well. They have been building a nest for about 5 months now. They constantly tinker with it. I think they are a very under-rated finch, because they are so peaceful, active, and curious birds. They were my first finches and some of my favorites.

Chase, besides the swee waxbills that I had for only max a half year they were my first finches too and really started my love for finches! Of the 4 that I got I still have 3, so come to think of it, besides one of my budgies it makes them the oldest birds in my aviary. They are now about 5 years old (have the aviary a little more than 4 years). :-)

I just saw OC's in a pet store last week and couldn't believe how small they were and so cute! I thought they were very pretty! I instantly wanted a pair of course  but alas, they were left at the store. :(
