Oh Boy! you have me at a disadvantage as I am very new to Finches and don't quite understand the abbreviatons Ib/bc. All I know is that it is a female Zebra Finch

It's going to take some time for me to learn about all the mutations and such....Can you tell me what Ib/bc means?
I need all the help I can get.

I think that's "Lightback / Black Cheek" (shorthand). Ameza correct me if I'm wrong.

They make a very handsome couple! 20... you'll have more soon. Wait til the zebras start laying eggs. Not to mention all those spice finches

Well I am not to sure about the Spice Finches they don't make any sounds????? So far I am not to impressed with them like I thought I would be. Compared to my other finches which are so lively and talkative so to speak the Spice finches are dull. Time will tell.

She's beautiful! Love her crisp white tummy and contrasting black tear marks. you'll have to look up the mutation calculator and see what you might get with this paring!

I love black cheek Zebras!!

Thanks ... Here is another question. Today I bought the new
Zebra Hen and in the cage next to where she was there were more Zebra finches but the were labeled
"English Zebra Finches" ???? I could not see much of a difference.

hi
this guy may be after more money for them, because as far as i know there is no difference between the ones bred here and the ones bred in your country,i would stick with the spice birds because they are very docile and dont cause trouble once they get used to your place they will be more active and they are not nest raiders like zebs are...the female you got is perfect not one black mark on her breast and a perfect teardrop

I know that here if a zebra is labeled English in a show, it is a giant zebra.
In fact at the last bird show, best overall was won by one.

hi
well i was going to mention the size ,but if they where in the same shop then you would be able to see the size difference straaight away, the english ones have rather a large breast and underbelly as opposed to the more sleeker american ones but you can do this yourself as i had done in the past all you have to do is pick the largest ones out of a clutch to breed with the largest out of another clutch it does take time but you get there in the end ..there is a picture here courtesy of zebra finch society showing the difference
