I just registered today.
I have been reading on this forum since yesterday and I must say I just love looking at all the pictures and reading all the information!

Anyway, as I was reading I can across many abbreviations...and I have no idea what they are. I know there the names of the bird species but I dont know what they stand for.

So, can some one please tell me what the abbreviations stand for or send me the post that has my question already answered?

Which abbreviations are you referring to? Types of finch or the terms used for a species for example lady gouldians ... RH.PB.Nb

Well since there's so many that I dont know ...I'll give ya an example. Im readin a post right now that says RCCB female. I have no idea what that is.

LG = Lady Gouldian
Zeb = Zebra
Soc = Society
BCCB = Blue capped Cordon Bleu
Shaft = Shaftail
OC = Orange cheeked Waxbil
Berry = Strawberry
GS = Green Singer
PF = Parrot Finch
BFPF = Blue faced Parrot Finch
LPF = Lutino Parrot Finch

etc etc.

I am not sure what the official abbreviation is, but I use BW for Bronze Winged Manniken, YS for Yellow Star, and I'd love to know the abbreviations if mine are not correct, as well as for the Red Ear Waxbill or St. Helena, or Goldbreast Finches. Unless we just type those out as I did now?

Could you also list/direct me to the abbreviations for the terms used for lady gouldians for another newbie? Thank you thank you!
