I have zebras so far but im looking forward to get another breed like waxbills or javas

Welcome to the forum. I think you will find, if you read the information at the Finch Information Center link, (to the left of the page) that the typical birds that breed well are Society's and a few others. People here will respond with their personal experience too. I find that if I help by providing privacy, nest materials and plenty of food and fresh water, the different varieties of finches will nest and lay eggs. Good Luck.

Some birds require live food, and that is a major consideration for me. Things are hard enough as it is, w/o having to deal with LIVE food (worms, etc).

You almost can't get Societies to stop breeding! They love nothing more than to raise as many babies as you'll let them ;) And they are the sweetest little birds. In fact, a mated pair will let others help raise their chicks. Maybe because they all sleep in the same nest together at night so it's just one big happy family to them I love mine.

The easiest for me are Zebra finches, societies too (but easier in a cage i find).
The hardest i've bred so far is cut-throats.(require livefood)

I agree with this, live food is a pain for me and makes it more difficult.
But have to say when a bird is difficult to breed and you do it successfully, it does give you greater satisfaction!

What is easy for some, may be difficult for others depending on their environmental setup and diet.

Rule of thumb will be that birds highly domesticated e.g. Zebras, Bengalese, Gouldians, Canary will breed fairly easily without too much trouble.
Those species less domesticated or wild caught or with only a few generations in aviculture will prove far more difficult to breed as they still have many "wild" instincts, such as live food or nesting, which need to be met.

Just to add silverbills to that list,I find them fairly easy to breed,and great charactors and chirpers

Just as a pratical note,make sure you have enough room/cages for any chicks,remember that once they fledge and are feeding on their own,if breeding in a cage,you will need to seperate them,so for each breeding pair you need 2 cages,1 to breed in and 1 to seperate the chicks into when needed
