I got a new pair of grey singers

My friend has just gave me his pair of grey singers. He used to keep them in a big flight cage with a bunch of strawberries but now he must give them away since he wanna start breeding the strawberries again; so I dropped by his place yesterday and took them home.
I don't have much experiences about these guys, I don't even know if they're a real pair or not since they never ever laid any eggs when they're in my friend's place. I saw some pin feathers in their face and breast, is that signs of molting? Will they go through a heavy molt like gouldians, or they will molt like canaries?
anyway, here's the photos. The male is actually a hybrid(male green singer x female grey singer). The female: Now I'm feeding them what I feed my other finches, plus meal worm and ant eggs.
They're 2 years old now, hope I can do something right and will hear their nice song soon.
