O.K. I posted in breeding I have two GS juvies that are both male. I am currently housing them together in a cage, but without other finches because they are young, about two months old. Are they old enough to put into a larger flight cage with other finches? They seem so sweet and sing a lot, but I know GS can be aggressive, but without a hen would they do well in a mixed flight?

Mine are housed in a HQ tall flight, they are peaceful and very active, a little flighty. I chose a flight for them so they have room to fly up to the top and sit when I feed from the lower door.

I have never housed them with other species.

How many do you have in the flight? Just two? These are two males and I have two breeding pairs, each pair in a separate cage. So, six GS altogether. The two juvies are about two months old and I don't have a spare cage that's larger than the one they are in, which is 30x20x20.

There are only two in this cage, the one thing I like about this cage is that I can enter through the bottom and they scoot up to the top. My pair is a bit flighty and I had them in a regular cage, when I went to feed them they flew frantically about, I felt based on this pair being like they are and to avoid upsetting them or them injuring themselves it was better to place the in a big cage.

I think other that own them have them in breeding cages and they do fine.

I have two of the double flights like yours, in which I house my mixed finches who are not breeding. Although, sometimes they surprise me anyway. My lavenders and RTPF are pulling at the paper on the bottom of the flight to try and make a nest with the paper. Maybe I should put nests and material inside?? But, I'm afraid of fighting or territorial issues. Any thoughts?
Regarding the GS cock juvies, I'll keep them as they are until I can find a taller cage that won't take up too much room. I may sell them at the October Bird Show here in TX. We'll see...
