Hi everyone! I hope you don't mind another newbie posting for help identifying their finches

I just got a pair of zebra finches yesterday, and I'm pretty clueless as to what variety they are. The woman at the pet store couldn't really tell me anything about them...

I'm a complete newbie finch owner, so I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out. I've only got one picture right now, and it's kinda huge, so I'm just gonna link it: *Ack, it won't let me post a link because I've got no other posts. Sorry! I'm adding a comment to this post with the picture link if I can.

I've managed to deduce that they're both male (right?), and I'm guessing that one in front is a gray... But the other one? Ha. My best guess is that he's maybe a recessive silver? He doesn't really have any of the regular black markings, and his body is a lighter colour than the other one. He's still got the chestnut flanks with the white spots, though - and his are actually more pronounced than the other's.

If anyone could tell me for sure, that would be awesome. I'll try to get a few more pictures, but they're still pretty freaked out from the trip home, so I'm trying not to bother them too much right now.

You have a normal zebra finch male (the one on the left) and the other one I think is a Florida fancy zebra (also male).

Hmm... I looked around and found this website... I suppose he does look quite a bit like the second last finch pictured. So he's a Light Version Single Factor Florda Fancy? That's quite the mouthful

Also, in regard to the other finch, is a normal the same as a gray?

I wouldn't call it a light version, just a single factor florida fancy. And Yes Grey typically means normal or wild type coloring.
